Beeson Family Chemistry Scholarship


SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

Margaret "Peg" Beeson '36 established the Beeson Family Chemistry Scholarship in memory of her father, George H. Beeson, her mother , Nina M. Beeson and sister, Nina Kathryn "Katie" Beeson '32. The scholarship is to benefit deserving Johnson County students enrolling at Franklin College with the intent of pursuing a chemistry undergraduate degree. Miss Beeson hopes the scholarship will assist qualified, young adults in the pursuit of an education in the field of science. Beeson's appreciation of the natural sciences prompted her to endow the Beeson Family Chemistry Scholarship. It is her hope that the scholarship will help talented Franklin College men and women to achieve a degree in chemistry and go forth to serve their communities following graduation.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

First preference shall be given to a Franklin Community High School student majoring in chemistry. A second preference shall be given to a Johnson County student graduated from Center Grove, Edinburgh, Greenwood, Indian Creek and/or Whiteland high schools with a major in chemistry. Student(s) with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average may renew the scholarship.
