John J. Lorenzano Endowed Scholarship
SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND
The Lorenzano family established the John J. Lorenzano Endowed Scholarship in January 2002 to pay tribute to their late brother and son, John Lorenzano. John, a former Franklin College student and firefighter, was killed in the line of duty in 1992. This scholarship will serve to honor the legacy of John and his love for fire fighting and Franklin College.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The recipient must be a first-year, full-time student at Franklin College. The recipient shall be a relative of a police officer or fire fighter and actively involved in community service and leadership. First preference shall be given to a graduate of Cathedral High School. Second preference shall be given to a graduate of an Indianapolis Catholic high school. Should a relative of a police officer or fire fighter not meet the other selection criteria of this scholarship, the scholarship may be made available to other first-year students who are not related to a police officer or a fire fighter, but who do meet the selection criteria.
