Francis Puffer Andrews Memorial Endowed Scholarship, C.Y. Andrews Fund

SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

Established through their estate plans, Claude Y. and Laura Andrews established a scholarship at First Baptist Church of Peru, Indiana, as a memorial to their deceased son, Francis Puffer Andrews. This scholarship is to assist American Baptist students pursuing an education at Franklin College. In 2006, First Baptist Church of Peru established a permanent endowed scholarship fund at Franklin College to be administered in accordance with the church's practice as allowed in the Last Will and Testament of the Andrews' estate. These funds, coupled with matching funds from the Lilly Endowment, Inc., will provide annual scholarship support for American Baptist students attending Franklin College.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

The Francis Puffer Andrews Scholarship will be awarded to a member of an American Baptist church in the following order of priority: Members of First Baptist Church of Peru, Indiana; Members of American Baptist churches in the Logansport Baptist Association of American Baptist Churches Indiana/Kentucky; Members of churches in Indiana which are part of the American Baptist Churches, Indiana/Kentucky and Greater Indianapolis regions.
