Eugene C. and Nina Mason Pulliam Chair In Journalism

The Pulliam School of Journalism and the Chair in Journalism are named in honor of newspaper publisher Eugene C. Pulliam and his wife, Nina Mason Pulliam. The Pulliams' company, Central Newspapers Inc., included The Indianapolis Star, The Indianapolis News, Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette. The Pulliams' 1967 and 1971 donations of stock to the journalism program at Franklin College enabled the establishment of a multi-million dollar endowment, income from which provides equipment and operating funds for the Pulliam School today.
