Running Start

Running Start application

We offer high school juniors and seniors a unique opportunity to begin their college education on campus. Through the Running Start program, qualified high school juniors and seniors take first-year level college courses in English, math, social and natural sciences and humanities. Running Start students receive college credit for these classes, which may be applied toward a degree at Franklin College or any other college or university that will accept the transfer credit. Convenient class times allow students to arrange Running Start courses around their high school schedules and activities.

The Running Start application fee is $40. Tuition is $415 per class during fall and spring terms (maximum of two, 4 credit hour courses per semester)* and $215 per credit hour during summer sessions.

A comprehensive list of all available courses is available through the catalog.

*Additional fees apply for lab science courses and courses more than 4 credit hours.
