Dr. Alsop is a Professor of Education who also contributes to the Department of Modern Languages. His current responsibilities in the Department of Education include teaching World Geography and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages, as well as field supervision. He also teaches various Spanish courses from the beginning to the advanced levels.

Dr. Alsop has a BA and an MAT in Spanish from Indiana University. He earned his Ph D in Foreign Language Education from Purdue University in 2006. His teaching background includes Spanish at Beech Grove High School, the University of Indianapolis, and Butler University prior to arriving at Franklin in 2007. Dr. Alsop led Butler students on four summer immersion programs in Guadalajara, Mexico. He will continue this role in a similar program for Franklin students during Winter Term. In addition, he led Franklin Education students in an international teaching program at the American School Foundation also in Guadalajara, Mexico in January 2008.
