Dr. Kristin Flora received her B.S. in Psychology/Chemistry from Valparaiso University. She received her M.S. and PhD in Experimental Psychology (emphasis in social/health) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her dissertation research focused on how personality factors impact both exercise addictive and exercise avoidance behaviors. Her more recent research has focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning, including assessment of active learning exercises used in her courses as well as the effectiveness of a writing mentor in psychology courses. She maintains professional memberships with the Midwestern Psychological Association, the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, and the Association for Psychological Science. She teaches courses in Developmental Psychology and Social Psychology. In her free time, Dr. Flora enjoys spending time with her 2 children and husband, cheering on Chicago sports teams, practicing yoga and traveling.
