Rev. David Weatherspoon is the campus minister for Franklin College. His ministry focuses on five primary areas: Faith development, worship, education, outreach/service and pastoral care. From conducting chapel services to meeting one-on-one with students with questions about faith to chaperoning mission trips, Weatherspoon helps students participate in understanding and practicing their faith.

Weatherspoon grew up in Bucksnort, Tenn., and is a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville and Mercer University's McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta, Ga. His previous career experience includes working part time as a campus minister at Georgia Tech and Emory University

Weatherspoon participates in a variety of volunteer organizations and programs, including American Baptist Campus Ministers Association, Young Ministers Network for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Bridges of Hope and Leadership Johnson County.

His hobbies include basketball, running and travel.
