Deidra Baumgardner has served as the Director of Public Relations at Franklin College since 2002. Her primary responsibility is media relations, but others include special event planning and campus event advertising.

She supervises a full-time staff of three, which includes the Editor of Publications, the Sports Information Director and the Assistant to Public Relations. She also supervises a student staff of Pulliam Fellows, students who are journalism majors or minors and work for the PR department to gain hands-on experience in the field.

Baumgardner is a graduate of Franklin Community High School and Ball State University. She is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Johnson County and has completed her certification in nonprofit management through a partnership with the Johnson County Community Foundation and Franklin College. Her professional memberships include the Public Relations Society of America, Indianapolis Chapter of the American Marketing Association, Franklin Chamber of Commerce and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Civic organizations she is currently affiliated with are Partnership for a Healthier Johnson County and Discover Downtown Franklin.

In her spare time, Baumgardner enjoys health and fitness activities, golf, athletics - especially FC football and the Colts, cooking, music, reading and spending time with her family.
