66 Water Street Arts Cafe is a meeting ground. Through a Franklin College and Franklin community partnership, the art gallery and cafe space offer FC students real-life work experience in their field. Art majors can intern at the cafe to learn the ins-and-outs of gallery operations. Work by senior art majors will also be displayed on a rotating schedule. Business and  marketing majors plan the budget and advertising. Other local businesses (Indigo Duck, Athens and Benjamin's, to name a few) hope to lure in patrons with fresh coffee, espresso, baked goods, snacks and tasty boxed meals. The evening and weekend hours will also help keep downtown thriving after many businesses have closed. The stimulating environment of art, cozy chairs and discussion offers the whole community and student body a nightlife alternative. This unique project has received support from the Franklin Development Commission, the Johnson County Community Foundation and the City of Franklin. But, we are hoping to make a new community connection!
